Gowri et Alfonsa

For those who would like to make of their journey an interesting look of Indian culture, why not participate to our cooking courses?

You will discover the diversity of a rich and fine south Indian cuisine, and also experiment the north Indian and Creole cookery.

You will also learn to recognize and to use all the different spices which take an important place in the Indian culinary Art. In small 8 to 10 persons group, you will have both a theoric and practical approach with Gowri and Alfonsa 's cooking courses, market walks where you can discover the ingredients and, with our tips, write your personal cooking book.

Mornings will be dedicated to the cooking courses, and afternoons to the visit of Pondicherry and its surroundings.
Here is a little idea to make you salivate:

Would you be tempted by a byriani rice, this classic recipe, but so delicious, and infinitely adaptable? Or by a Fish Khozambu, which makes an exquisite mix of the ocean' s salty taste and the soft coconut milk? Or maybe learn to prepare a huge variety of pickles and chutneys of all types ? And end with a sweet note, by making a Payasam or a cold kulfi?
And what about, in the afternoon, visit pondicherry? walk around the market, discover both traditionnal and colonial architectures, visit the handmade paper factory, or get blessed by Laxsmi, the elephant of the temple? We could also go a little further, to admire the Ushteri Lake, or climb the rocky hills of Gingee, to discover its antique forts and temples...? This is just to give you a general idea !
